Dr. David Schwartz
Chiropractor

Dr. Schwartz's experience with chiropractic began at the age of 16 when he hurt his back during practice with his high school swim team. Within hours he couldn't walk because of the pain which had begun radiating into his legs. After days of bed rest, pain medications and muscle relaxants, an orthopedist told him his choices were either back surgery or being confined to bed on his back for six months. Neither option seemed promising. Fortunately a family friend directed him to a chiropractor who helped him and changed the direction of his life.
Dr. Schwartz earned his Bachelor's of Science in biology from Tulane University in New Orleans and then came back up north to where he received his doctorate in chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College in 1986. He furthered his education and received his Diplomate as a sports physician from the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians. Always wanting to bring more to his practice, the doctor has spent hundreds of hours taking courses to continue advancing his skill and knowledge of different chiropractic methods as well as rehabilitative procedures and nutrition.
In 1987, Dr. Schwartz began practicing in Queens, as an associate doctor in a busy chiropractic practice. In 1990 he moved to NJ and began practicing in Dumont, where he maintains "The Back Care Center". He also has consulted at local gyms in Tenafly and Teaneck, where he utilized his expertise in exercise and body mechanics to provide help for those members wishing to facilitate recovery from injuries using appropriate stretching, strengthening and balance exercises.
The Doctor is trained in and utilizes many methods of care. They range from the traditional "hands on" chiropractic adjustment to softer methods, utilizing specialized instruments to alleviate various problems. His versatility allows him to specifically tailor his care to his patient's individual needs and he has helped people with all types of injury ranging from herniated discs and disabling car accidents to simple strains and sprains.
