Did Your Chiropractor Take X-rays in Dumont?

Being honest, some of my patients don’t want x-rays. While I understand their concerns, I usually insist they are done, because it is in the best interest of the patient.  X-rays are an important diagnostic tool and there have been so many patients whose findings significantly alter their treatment path.

In most people we find some bio-mechanical issues.  These usually confirm what we suspected from the initial examination.  However, in some there are things like infections, severe degenerative arthritis, fractures and even cancers.  Without taking this extra step of x-rays, we would never have known of other underlying health issues and it would have delayed them receiving appropriate treatment.

Even in patients without severe findings, their x-rays help to determine our plan and the length of their treatment.

Some offices don’t take x-rays.  They say the insurance companies don’t want you to x-ray the patient right away.  Others think, I can always x-ray the patient later.  My answer is, I don’t treat insurance companies, I treat patients.  To provide safe and effective care, I want all the information before I put my hands on someone’s spine.

My suggestion to anyone who has things like back pain, sciatica, neck pain or headaches is to find a chiropractor.  We are very effective at helping these types of issues.  My other suggestion is never let a chiropractor who doesn’t do a full evaluation, including x-rays, touch your spine.  If you would like more information about chiropractic care, call your Dumont Chiropractor at 201-387-7463.
