Terrific Sights and Services in Dumont

I have been practicing chiropractic in Dumont, NJ for over 30 years and would never want to be anywhere else. This is an ideal town, in a beautiful Bergen County location, with a mixture of terrific sights and services.

Beautiful Residential Areas

Dumont is a picturesque borough and a great place to work and live. The majority of residences are owner-occupied, single-family homes but there are many houses here for rent, and several garden apartment complexes in town as well.

Properties are maintained with pride and the homes are beautifully kept. The residential streets are lined with trees, creating a feeling of being somewhere far from any major city, even though it is only a 20-minute drive to New York City and less to places like Englewood, Hackensack, or Fort Lee.

Dumont is a community of families from a diversity of backgrounds and occupations. The town is boarded by other communities like Cresskill, New Milford, Closter, Tenafly, Bergenfield, Harrington park, and Haworth. Dumont is not too big, but this town feels like it has everything you need for an ideal life.

Veteran's Memorial Park

There are many beautiful public parks scattered throughout the Borough. There are baseball fields, basketball and tennis courts, and soccer fields. Throughout the spring, summer, and fall these fields are bursting with life. Children and teenagers can be seen playing there every day. There are little league games as well as many adult leagues that meet in the parks and play there every week.

Additionally, there are several playgrounds that are perfect for you to bring smaller children. It is a great way for young families to meet and while they enjoy the open spaces as well. These parks and playgrounds are perfect ways to experience the community and to find others who share your interests.

Selzer Elementary School

In Dumont, the educational system is of major importance and the town prides itself on its successful, self-contained program. Dumont's schools go from Pre-k all the way through High School. There are four elementary grade schools. Two of them go from kindergarten to fifth and the other two also have middle school classes going up to eighth grade.

 Dumont High School

Both feed into The Dumont High School, located on New Milford Avenue, which is ranked 82 statewide and has a 97 percent graduation rate. Their reading and mathematics proficiency far surpassed the state averages.

Because of its close proximity to New York City, for many residents, Dumont is a commuting town. There is public transportation available to local towns around us as well as into Manhattan Port authority, via the George Washington Bridge. Travel time during rush hour is only about an hour by bus.

Things to Do

The business community in town is healthy and diverse. There is a multitude of restaurants, for both elegant and casual dining. There are several retail stores, hair salons, banks, pharmacies, and even exercise studios with some personal training options. There are also several attorney's offices, dental offices, and medical practices here too.

I have had to privilege of practicing here for over 30 years. The Back Care Center is located at 24 Grant Avenue, convenient to local businesses. We have convenient on-street parking but also have a large parking lot available for your convenience.
