5 Helpful tips in Dumont
There is no denying it: winter is here and the weather is rotten! The news stations keep telling us this storm will be the most recent “Worst Storm Ever” and to stay inside. I think they'd be thrilled if you didn’t even look outside your window and kept watching them report on the storm!
Eventually you are going to have to leave your home and go outside. It may not be today, but when you do there is a pretty good chance that there will be some snow waiting for you. Which means, soon it is going to be time to shovel some snow.
I want to remind you of a few tips to remember to avoid ending up in pain:
5 Tips for Shoveling Snow
- Have a good shovel that is long enough so you don’t have to bend too much.
- Push the snow and avoid lifting it.
- If you have to lift the snow, keep it close to your body and try not to go for the distance record when you throw it.
- If you feel dizzy, light-headed or out of breath, stop shoveling.
- If you do hurt your back or your neck, put an icepack on the area for 15 minutes/hour.
Enjoy the snow,
